Food & Wine's Editorial Guidelines Published on July 18, 2024 Close Photo: Courtesy of Taco Bell July 18 is a big day for Taco Bell fans because today, they can get their hands on the brand-new Cheesy Street Chalupas.On Thursday, Taco Bell unveiled its new menu item, which it says “fuses inspiration from street tacos with Taco Bell flavors and Quesalupa-inspired cheesy chalupa shells.” Each Cheesy Street Chalupas is a “street-sized” snack and comes in a bundle of two. Taco Bell added that the new menu item is made with “traditional street taco ingredients,” including “fresh onions and cilantro, remixed with premium proteins, all wrapped in chalupa shells that have been stuffed with melted mozzarella and pepper jack cheeses.” Customers can then pick between slow-roasted Cantina chicken or grilled steak and get it topped with a Jalapeño Ranch sauce. Courtesy of Taco Bell “The Chalupa has taken many delicious forms over the years, but with the Cheesy Street Chalupas, we set out to create a new flavor-rich way for fans to enjoy the beloved menu item,” Luis Restrepo, the vice president of product innovation at Taco Bell, shared. “The fresh onions and cilantro atop layers of cheese and premium proteins seasoned to perfection adds a different flavor profile and is our playful nod to the street taco that we all know and love.” The Cheesy Street Chalupas are available nationwide for $5.49. But, naturally, there’s a catch. They will only be available for a limited time and while supplies last. So get ‘em while they’re hot. To entice you even more, Taco Bell is offering one free Cheesy Street Chalupas duo when you spend $25 or more on a delivery order in the Taco Bell App from August 1 to 4. DashPass members will also get $8 off orders of $25 or more that include a Cheesy Street Chalupa now through July 24.
